In Sufi thought, denial means the rejection of one's own existence and actions. This concept is related to the individual's confrontation with internal conflicts and the state of self-acceptance. In Sufism, denial can also be seen as a step towards perceiving the truths. The main issue should be facing one's own ego. Denial can sometimes serve as a turning point for drawing lessons; it is necessary for self-evaluation and maturation. However, excessive denial can harm a person's spiritual development. In this process, self-discipline, willpower, and patience are of great importance.
