Nafs al-Mutma'inna
"Nafs al-Mutma'inna is the highest state of the self in which a person finds peace with Allah and themselves."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Nafs al-Mutma'inna symbolizes spiritual maturity and inner peace in Sufism. At this stage, the individual lives in complete submission to Allah, and their self is at peace with the divine will. Nafs al-Mutma'inna emerges as a result of the training and self-criticism experienced in the previous levels of the self. A person who reaches this level maintains a balance between mind and heart while being extremely peaceful spiritually. Furthermore, this stage signifies the individual's ability to love themselves and their surroundings, living in peace with this love. In Islamic belief, individuals with Nafs al-Mutma'inna turn towards Allah with complete loyalty while approaching others with compassion and kindness. It is often a targeted level for individuals to reach the highest state and attain spiritual maturity.
