Tawakkul

Tawakkul is defined as having absolute trust in Allah, relying on Him, and believing that everything is dependent on His decree. In Islam, tawakkul is not merely a passive waiting, but is considered a submission that combines active faith and effort. From a Sufi perspective, tawakkul requires accepting situations beyond one's control with patience and trust under the guidance of a mentor. The understanding of tawakkul encourages a person to make their own efforts while leaving the outcomes to Allah. Therefore, in Islam, tawakkul is a virtue that reflects the highest level of faith and submission. The Quran states, 'And whoever puts his trust in Allah, He will be sufficient for him.' This reinforces the importance of tawakkul and the reliability of Allah's assistance.
