Repentance
"Repentance is turning to Allah by ceasing to commit sins."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Repentance, in the Islamic religion, is the decision of an individual to turn away from their sins and turn towards Allah. This natural process is a result of feelings of longing and remorse. To repent expresses a return to Allah in heart and spirit. Muslims acknowledge their sins and sincerely seek forgiveness from Allah. The acceptance of repentance is dependent on the individual's sincerity. Many Islamic scholars view the essence of repentance as being captured even by the heart and consider intention as a fundamental principle; thus, repentance is a process of spiritual transformation and purification. In Islamic culture, repentance is regarded as a key that opens the door to mercy.
