Contemplation
"Contemplation is the act of making a deep internal assessment by reflecting on Allah's creation and existence."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Contemplation in Islam is the act of thinking and looking deeply at the existence of Allah and everything He has created. This concept is an inseparable part of the spiritual journey. In Islam, contemplation is not only about solitude and thinking alone but also aims to derive lessons. The expression 'Do you not reflect?' (Al-Imran, 191) in the Qur'an indicates the importance of contemplation. In Sufism, the act of contemplation helps the seekers to question the depths of their conscience and essence, thereby facilitating their spiritual development. Contemplation allows the heart and mind to come together to remember Allah and to turn towards the beauties and wisdoms He has created. Thus, the individual adds new understandings to their life in their own spiritual journey.
Example / Wisdom Quote
"The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'An hour of contemplation is better than a year of voluntary worship.'"
