Gratitude
"Gratitude is the expression of appreciation and thankfulness for the blessings of Allah."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Gratitude is the expression of the feeling of thankfulness and appreciation for the blessings given by Allah in Islam and Sufism. Gratitude is not merely an action performed by the tongue; it also requires the heart to act in accordance with this sentiment. Being grateful facilitates a person's closeness to Allah, the relief of their soul, and the increase of tranquility. In the understanding of Sufism, a Muslim should recognize every blessing as coming from Allah. Gratitude expresses the return to what is real and lasting, namely Allah, without being captivated by the temporary pleasures of worldly life. Gratitude not only involves being aware of the blessings but also requires welcoming them with a heartfelt sense of appreciation.
