Rida is an important part of Sufi attire and is a garment used by dervishes. Sufis wear Rida to symbolize their humble lifestyle and their desire to turn towards the hereafter, even though the world is temporary. It is generally made of simple and natural materials and presents a form that is devoid of ostentation. Rida helps dervishes present themselves in a humble manner towards people. Rida also contributes to spiritual purification during their spiritual journey and helps the individual to turn inward. Rida can be made from animal skin that should be condemned or from natural fibers.
