Rights of Neighbors
"The rights of neighbors define the rights and responsibilities that neighbors have towards each other. Neighborly relations hold great importance in Islam."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
The rights of neighbors pertain to the maintenance of friendly relations among neighbors and the observance of mutual rights. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of kindness towards neighbors while also stressing that neighbors should not be wrongfully harmed. Helping one's neighbor, treating them well, and providing support when they are in need are among the duties of neighborliness. In Islamic societies, neighborly relations are among the elements that strengthen the social fabric of the community, foster the understanding of cooperation and solidarity, and enhance peace. The rights of neighbors are not limited to physical interactions; they also encompass spiritual support and solidarity. Therefore, respecting the rights of neighbors is a responsibility mandated by both religion and humanity.
