Prophecy
"Prophecy is the act of providing information about events that will occur in the future. It has many meanings and interpretations in Islam."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Prophecy is generally regarded as a divine knowledge in Islamic culture. Knowing the future is considered a talent possessed by certain individuals. Sometimes, this is perceived as an authority granted by Allah to a faithful servant. Prophecy can occur through the dreams of blessed individuals or through certain special circumstances. However, in Islam, making false prophecies or believing in them is deemed incorrect. Thus, prophecy does not always rely on a divine stream and has legal boundaries. From a Sufi perspective, prophecy is also considered significant in terms of a person's inner development and spiritual wisdom.
Example / Wisdom Quote
"Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Prophecy belongs solely to a scholar.'"
