Right to Suicide
"The right to suicide is defined as the right of a person to end their life, but this is not endorsed in Islam."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Although the right to suicide expresses an individual's choice to end their life, Islam absolutely rejects this act. According to Islam, life is considered a trust from Allah, and ending this trust means going against His will. In the Qur'an, there are many commandments aimed at preserving life, stating that suicide is forbidden. For this reason, it is crucial to cope with suicidal thoughts and provide support in this regard. While the meaning and value of life are emphasized in Islam, the obligations of individuals to protect their mental health should also be taken into account. Therefore, although the right to suicide may be discussed in the context of individual freedoms, it has no place in Islam, and there are many teachings that encourage people to stay away from such thoughts.
