Envy
"Envy is the desire for the misfortune of another's blessing and the feeling of jealousy that accompanies it."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Envy is a negative emotion that a person feels towards the successes and blessings of others. Islam defines the feeling of envy as a dangerous moral disease; because envy is considered an emotion that disrupts human relationships and threatens social peace. Muslims should avoid such negative feelings by trusting in Allah's justice and decree. Envy undermines a person's spiritual well-being and harms themselves. The envy that darkens a person's inner world is regarded as a kind of heart disease and hinders their spiritual development. Therefore, it is important to prioritize feelings of brotherhood and cooperation instead of envy.
