Alif, Lam, Mim. The Romans have been defeated in a nearby land. They will be victorious after a few years from this defeat. The matter ultimately belongs to Allah. On that day, the believers will rejoice in the help of Allah, who supports whom He wills. He is All-Powerful, Most Merciful. The Romans have been defeated in a nearby land. They will be victorious after a few years from this defeat. The matter ultimately belongs to Allah. On that day, the believers will rejoice in the help of Allah, who supports whom He wills. He is All-Powerful, Most Merciful. This is the promise of Allah; Allah does not break His promise, but most people do not know. They know only the apparent part of the worldly life. They are unaware of the Hereafter. Do they not reflect upon themselves, that Allah created the heavens, the earth, and all that is between them in truth and for an appointed term? Indeed, most people deny that they will meet their Lord. Do they not travel the earth and see how was the end of those before them? They were stronger than them, and they cultivated the earth and populated it more than they did, and messengers came to them with clear signs. Thus, Allah did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. Then the end of those who did evil was very bad, for they denied the signs of Allah and mocked them. Allah creates first, then brings back to life after death. In the end, you will return to Him. On the Day the Hour is established, the criminals will be in despair. Their partners they used to call upon will not be their intercessors; they will deny their partners. On the Day the Hour is established, on that day, they will be in utter confusion. But those who believe and do righteous deeds will be in a garden, honored. As for those who disbelieved and denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter, they will be brought to punishment. Glorify Allah in the evening and in the morning; praise belongs to Him in the heavens and the earth. Glorify Allah in the evening and in the morning; praise belongs to Him in the heavens and the earth. He brings the dead to life and brings the living from the dead; He revives the earth after its death. O mankind! Thus, you will also be resurrected. His creating you from dust is a sign of His existence. Then you become human beings and spread out on the earth. And He created for you from among yourselves spouses, and He made love and mercy to exist between you; this is a sign of His existence. In these are lessons for a people who reflect. His creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your languages and colors are signs of His existence. Indeed, in these are lessons for those who know. Your sleeping at night and seeking provision during the day is a sign of His existence. In these are lessons for a people who listen. His showing you lightning, giving you fear and hope, sending down rain from the sky and reviving the earth after its death is a sign of His existence. In these are lessons for a people who reflect. The heavens and the earth standing firm by His command is a sign of His existence. Then, when you are called from your graves, you will immediately come forth. Whatever is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him; all have submitted to Him. He is the Creator first, and then He revives after death. This is easier for Him. The most exalted attributes in the heavens and the earth belong to Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. Allah gives you an example from among yourselves: Do you accept that your slaves, whom you possess, are equal partners in the provisions We have given you, as you count them among yourselves? Thus, We explain the signs in detail for a people who reflect. No; the wrongdoers have followed their own desires blindly. Who can guide those whom Allah has led astray? They have no helpers. Direct yourself to the religion, inclining to truth, and establish prayer, and do not be of those who associate partners with Allah, who have divided their religion and become sects, each rejoicing in what they have. When people are afflicted by hardship, they call upon their Lord, turning to Him; but when He grants them a taste of mercy from Himself, some of them associate partners with their Lord, being ungrateful for what We have given them. So taste, for you will soon know. Have We sent down to them a proof that causes them to associate partners with Allah? When We bestow mercy upon people, they rejoice in it; but when an evil afflicts them for what their hands have earned, they lose all hope. Do they not see that Allah extends provision to whom He wills and restricts it? Indeed, in this are signs for a people who believe. And give the due to the relatives, the needy, and the traveler, and that is best for those who seek the pleasure of Allah. It is they who will be the successful. The usury that you give to increase in the wealth of people will not increase with Allah; but the charity (zakat) that you give seeking the pleasure of Allah, that is multiplied many times over. It is Allah who created you, then provided for you, then caused you to die, and then will bring you to life. Is there any of your partners that does any of that? Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by what the hands of people have earned; and He may let them taste part of what they have done, that perhaps they will return. Say, "Travel through the earth and observe how was the end of those before you; most of them were associators." Before the day comes when people will be divided into factions, direct yourself to the straight religion. Whoever disbelieves, his disbelief is against himself. And those who do righteous deeds will prepare for themselves a place of comfort. Indeed, Allah will reward those who believe and do righteous deeds from His bounty. Indeed, He does not like the disbelievers. The sending of winds as bringers of good tidings, the tasting of His mercy, the command by which the ships sail, and your seeking provision from His bounty, are signs of His existence. Perhaps you will be grateful. Indeed, We have sent before you many. We sent prophets to their communities, and they brought them clear signs; We took vengeance on those who did not listen and committed sins, for it was a right upon Us to assist the believers. It is Allah who sends the winds and drives the clouds, spreading them in the sky as He wills and piling them up. You see the rain emerging from among them. With the rain that Allah gives to whom He wills among His servants, they rejoice, for they had lost hope of receiving rain before. It is Allah who sends the winds and drives the clouds, spreading them in the sky as He wills and piling them up. You see the rain emerging from among them. With the rain that Allah gives to whom He wills among His servants, they rejoice, for they had lost hope of receiving rain before. Look at the signs of Allah's mercy, how He revives the earth after its death. Indeed, He revives the dead. He is capable of all things. If We were to send a wind and they saw the greenery turning yellow, they would immediately begin to be ungrateful. Indeed, you cannot make the dead hear; nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn away. You cannot guide the blind away from their misguidance; you can only convey to those who believe in Our signs; they are the Muslims. It is Allah who created you weak, then after weakness made you strong, then after strength made you weak and old. He creates what He wills; He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful. On the Day the Hour is established, the wrongdoers will swear that they had remained only for a short time. Thus, they were deceived in the world and turned away from the truth. Those who were given knowledge and faith will say, "Indeed, you remained in Allah's decree until the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not understand." The excuses of the wrongdoers will not benefit them that day; they will no longer be asked to do anything that pleases Allah. Indeed, We have presented every kind of parable for mankind in this Qur'an. However, if you were to bring them a miracle, the disbelievers would say, "You are only producing falsehoods." Thus, Allah seals the hearts of the ignorant. Be patient, for the word of Allah is indeed the truth. Let not the disbelievers belittle you.
