Ha, Mim. The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the All-Knowing. He is the Forgiver of sin, the Accepter of repentance, the Severe in punishment, and the Most Generous. There is no deity except Him; to Him is the final return. No one disputes the signs of Allah except the disbelievers. Let not the roaming of the disbelievers in the land deceive you. Before them, the people of Noah and the communities that opposed the prophets had denied their prophets; every nation had resolved to seize its prophet. They had strived to extinguish the truth with falsehood. So I seized them. How was My punishment? The word of your Lord has been fulfilled concerning the disbelievers that they are the companions of the Fire. Those who bear the Throne and those around it glorify their Lord with praise and believe in Him. For the believers, they ask: "Our Lord! Your knowledge and mercy encompass all things. Forgive those who repent and follow Your path; protect them from the punishment of Hell." "Our Lord! Admit the believers and their righteous forefathers, spouses, and offspring into the Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them; indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise." "And protect them from evil! On that Day, whoever You protect from evil, indeed, You have shown him mercy. This is the great success." But to the disbelievers, it will be said: "Indeed, the wrath of Allah is greater than your mutual anger; when you were called to faith, you disbelieved." They will say: "Our Lord! You have killed us twice and given us life twice. We confess our sins; is there any way to return?" It will be said to them: "You disbelieved only when Allah was called upon, but when partners were associated with Him, you believed. Today, the judgment belongs to the Exalted Allah." It is He who shows you His signs and sends down provision from the heaven. None takes heed except those who turn to Allah. O believers! Invoke your Lord, making the religion exclusively for Him, even if the disbelievers dislike it. The Lord of the Throne, the Most High, sends down revelation to whom He wills among His servants to warn of the Day of Meeting. On that Day, they will emerge; nothing about them will be hidden from Allah. It will be said: "To whom belongs the sovereignty today?" They will all say: "To Allah, the One, the Prevailing." Today, every soul will be compensated for what it earned. Today, there is no injustice. Indeed, Allah is swift in account. He warns them of the Day of Resurrection, a day when hearts will be at the throats, and they will swallow their grief. The oppressors will have no friend nor intercessor whose word will be listened to. Allah knows the treachery of the eyes and what the hearts conceal. Allah judges with truth. Those whom they invoke besides Him have no power to judge anything. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing. Do they not travel the earth and see the end of those before them, who were greater than them in strength and left more traces on the earth? Allah seized them for their sins, and they had no protector against Allah. This is due to their denial of the clear signs that came to them from their Lord. So Allah seized them. Indeed, He is Strong and Severe in punishment. We sent Moses with Our signs and clear proofs to Pharaoh, Haman, and Qarun. They said: "This is a magician, a liar." And when Moses brought them the truth from Us, they said: "Kill the sons of those who have believed with him and keep alive their women." But the plot of the disbelievers is only in error. Pharaoh said: "Leave me to kill Moses; he has called upon his Lord." While he was pleading, he said, "I fear that he will change your religion or cause corruption in the land." Moses said, "Indeed, I seek refuge with Allah, my Lord and your Lord, from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning." A man from Pharaoh's family, who concealed his faith, said, "Will you kill a man because he says, 'My Lord is Allah,' while he has come to you with clear signs from your Lord? And if he is a liar, upon him is his lie; but if he is truthful, some of what he threatens you with may strike you. Indeed, Allah does not guide the transgressing liar." "O my people, today the dominion is yours; you are the victors. But when the punishment of Allah comes upon us, who will help us?" Pharaoh said, "I do not say to you except what I see. I guide you only to the right path." The believing man said, "O my people! Indeed, I fear for you the fate of the people of Noah, and the fate of 'Aad, Thamud, and those who came after them, the fate of those who denied their prophets. Allah does not wish injustice for His servants." The believing man said, "O my people! Indeed, I fear for you the fate of the people of Noah, and the fate of 'Aad, Thamud, and those who came after them, the fate of those who denied their prophets. Allah does not wish injustice for His servants." "O my people! I fear for you the Day of Calling." "The day you turn your backs and flee, there will be no protector for you against Allah. And whoever Allah leads astray, for him there is no guide." "Indeed, Joseph had come to you before with clear signs, but you continued to doubt what he brought you. And when he died, you said, 'Allah will never send a messenger after him.' Thus Allah leads astray the excessive doubter." "These are the verses of Allah that they dispute without any proof having come to them. This increases anger with Allah and among the believers. Allah seals the heart of every arrogant tyrant for this reason." Pharaoh said, "O Haman! Build for me a tower that I may reach the ways, the ways of the heavens, and look at the God of Moses; indeed, I think he is a liar." And the evil deed of Pharaoh was made attractive to him, and he was hindered from the right path. The plot of Pharaoh was certainly destined to fail. Pharaoh said, "O Haman! The believing man said, "O my people! Follow me; I will guide you to the right path." "O my people! Indeed, this worldly life is but a passing enjoyment, but the Hereafter—that is the home of permanence." "Whoever commits a wrongdoing will be recompensed only for it, and whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while believing—those will enter Paradise, where they will be provided for without account." "O my people! What is the matter with me that I invite you to salvation while you invite me to the Fire?" "You invite me to disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, while I invite you to the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving." "There is no doubt that what you invite me to is not capable of calling me in this world or in the Hereafter, and that we will all return to Allah, and that the excessive ones will be the companions of the Fire." "You will remember what I say to you. I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed, Allah is Seeing of the servants." Allah protected him from the plot they intended to harm him with. The evil punishment engulfed Pharaoh's people. They were They are presented to the Fire morning and evening. On the Day the Hour comes, it will be said, "Put Pharaoh's people into the severest punishment." While they argue with one another in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we followed you; can you avail us of anything from the Fire?" Those who were arrogant will reply, "Indeed, we are all in it. Allah has certainly judged between the servants." And those in the Fire will call to the keepers of Hell, "Invoke your Lord to lighten for us a day from the punishment." They will say, "Did your messengers not bring you clear proofs?" They will reply, "Yes." The keepers will say, "Then invoke [Allah] yourselves." But the invocation of the disbelievers is not except in error. Indeed, We will support Our messengers and those who believe during the life of this world and on the Day when the witnesses will stand. The Day when the wrongdoers will not benefit from their excuses, and for them is the curse, and for them is the worst home. And We certainly gave Moses the guidance, and We made the Children of Israel inherit the Scripture, a guidance and a lesson for those of reason. So be patient; indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And ask for forgiveness for your sin and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning. Indeed, those who dispute concerning the verses of Allah without having received any evidence, their hearts are filled with pride that they will never attain. So seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. The creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of the people do not know. Not equal are the blind and the seeing, nor are those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evil-doers. Little do you reflect? The Day of Resurrection is surely coming; there is no doubt about it, but most of the people do not believe. Your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you. Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell, humbled." It is He who made for you the night to rest in and the day to see. Indeed, Allah is Gracious to the people, but most of the people do not show gratitude. This is your Lord, Allah, the Creator of all things. There is no deity except Him. How are you deluded? Those who deny the signs of Allah while they are aware of them are being turned away. It is Allah who made the earth a resting place for you and the heaven a canopy and formed you and made your forms good and provided you with good things. This is your Lord, Allah. Exalted is Allah, the Lord of the worlds! He is the Ever-Living; there is no deity except Him. Invoke Him, sincere to Him in religion. Praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Say, "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you invoke besides Allah." Say, "I have been commanded to be the first of the Muslims." It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He allows you] to reach your maturity; then [He allows you] to become old; and among you is he who is taken in death before [that]. So that you may have a term specified. Perhaps you will use reason. It is He who gives life and causes death. And when He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. Have you not considered those who dispute concerning the verses of Allah? How are they turned away? Those who deny the Scripture and what We sent with Our messengers will surely know. They will have chains around their necks and they will be dragged in boiling water; then in the Fire they will be burned. They will have chains around their necks and they will be dragged in boiling water; then in the Fire they will be burned. Then it will be said to them: "Where are the partners you used to invoke besides Allah?" They will say: "They have deserted us; rather, we did not used to invoke anything before." Thus Allah leads the disbelievers astray. Then it will be said to them: "Where are the partners you used to invoke besides Allah?" They will say: "They have deserted us; rather, we did not used to invoke anything before." Thus Allah leads the disbelievers astray. It will be said to them: "This is because of your arrogance and your pride on earth without right. Enter the gates of Hell, wherein you will abide eternally." What a wretched abode for the arrogant! It will be said to them: "This is because of your arrogance and your pride on earth without right. Enter the gates of Hell, wherein you will abide eternally." What a wretched abode for the arrogant! Be patient; indeed, the promise of Allah is true. We will show you some of the punishment We have promised them or We will take you in death; and to Us is their return. Indeed, We sent many messengers before you; some of them We have mentioned to you, and some We have not mentioned. And no messenger can bring a sign except by permission of Allah. And when the command of Allah comes, the matter is decided. And at that time, those who have been in vain will be in regret. It is Allah who created the animals for you to ride and for food. And there are other benefits for you in them; and of them you derive pleasure as you ride them. And with them and with ships you are carried. Allah shows you His signs. Which of the signs of Allah do you deny? Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them, who were greater than them in strength and had left greater traces in the earth? What they earned did not avail them. And when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were arrogant with what they had of knowledge and were enveloped by what they used to ridicule. And when they saw Our punishment, they said: "We believe in Allah alone and we disbelieve in that which we used to associate with Him." But their faith was not going to benefit them when they saw Our punishment. This is the law of Allah which has preceded among His servants. And there the disbelievers will be in regret.
