Zuhd
"Zuhd is the attitude of disregarding worldly goods and interests, and progressing on the path of the Hereafter."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Although zuhdi can be understood as an attitude of 'mocking and belittling' worldly affairs, it has a deeper meaning. In Islam, zuhdi refers to the reduction of one's attachment to the material world and a greater focus on actions for the Hereafter. In Sufism, the understanding of zuhdi aims to increase love for Allah by distancing oneself from the desires and wants of the self. Zuhd is a symbol of spiritual purification and self-discipline. True zuhdi is the ability of a person to elevate spiritually and to understand that blessings are, in fact, a test.
