Tawakkul

Tawakkul is defined as having absolute trust in Allah, relying on Him, and believing that everything is dependent on His decree. In Islam, tawakkul is considered not just a passive waiting but a surrender that combines active faith and effort. From a Sufi perspective, tawakkul requires accepting situations beyond one's will with patience and trust under the guidance of a spiritual mentor. The understanding of tawakkul encourages a person to exert their efforts while leaving the outcomes to Allah. Therefore, in Islam, tawakkul is a virtue that reflects the highest levels of faith and surrender. The Qur'an states, 'And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him.' This reinforces the importance of tawakkul and the reliability of Allah's assistance.
