Tekke is a place where the teachings of Sufism are practiced and spiritual education is provided under the guidance of spiritual mentors. These places, where remembrance (dhikr), prayer, and love are experienced, carry important elements related to Sufi education. Tekkeler are also significant areas for ensuring social solidarity, cooperation, and community services. They play a major role in the spiritual development of seekers (saliks) and are particularly places where Sufi rituals are performed. However, distinct differences in practices can be observed among tekkes affiliated with different orders (tariqas).
