Sariq

"Sariq is a head covering frequently preferred in madrasas and Sufism, serving as a spiritual symbol."

Spiritual & Deep Meaning

Sariq is a type of headgear or covering used by dervishes and students in madrasas to cover their heads in the history of Sufism and Islam. The sariq reflects the spiritual status, age, and knowledge of the wearer. In Sufi literature, the sariq serves as a means of a person's spiritual path and also carries a meaning akin to sacrifice. It is believed that dervishes, by donning the sariq, turn their hearts towards Allah and direct their attention towards spiritual goals. Additionally, the sariq is an important object that expresses simplicity and humility. Although initially worn by men, it has gradually begun to be used among women as well.

Example / Wisdom Quote
