Araf
"Araf is a place located between Paradise and Hell, serving as a transition area for both groups."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Araf is a realm that exists between Paradise and Hell after the Day of Judgment. Here, individuals pause between the people of Paradise and the people of Hell, being evaluated according to their deeds. In the Quran, Araf is described as a part of the justice mechanism in the Hereafter. From a Sufi perspective, Araf represents a period of spiritual inquiry and maturation. The individual reflects on the mistakes of their previous life during this phase and strives for correction, leading to a new formation. Araf also prepares the ground for one's inner reckoning.
