Translation (EN)
The Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, who has no children, no partner in sovereignty, who creates everything and organizes it according to a measure, and who sent down the Qur'an to His servant to distinguish truth from falsehood. The disbelievers have taken gods besides Him that cannot create anything, rather they themselves are created, and they cannot bring harm or benefit to themselves; they have no power to kill, resurrect, or bring back to life after death. The deniers said, 'This Qur'an is fabricated; another community has helped him with it.' They uttered unjust and baseless words, saying, 'The Qur'an is the tales of the ancients; it is written down by others and read to him morning and evening.' Say, 'It has been sent down by He who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.' They said, 'What kind of prophet is this who eats food and walks in the markets? If only a messenger angel were sent down with him! Or if only he had a treasure, or a garden from which he could eat!' The wrongdoers said to the believers, 'You are merely following a man bewitched.' Look at how they bring examples! They have gone astray and cannot find the way. If He wills, Allah, the Most High, can give you better than this, gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, and palaces. They have indeed denied the Hour of Resurrection. For those who deny that Hour, We have prepared a blazing fire. When it sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and its roaring. And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein, chained together, they will cry out for death, 'Do not wish to die once, but wish to die many times.' Say, 'Is this better, or the eternal paradise promised to those who fear Allah, which will be their reward and destination?' In it, they will have whatever they wish, a promise from your Lord that is to be fulfilled. On that day, He will gather them and those they used to worship besides Allah and will say, 'Did you mislead My servants, or did they themselves go astray?' They will say, 'Glory be to You! It is not fitting for us to take other than You as allies; but You provided them and their forefathers with comforts until they forgot the remembrance of You and became a destroyed people.' It will be said, 'They have denied what you say, and you cannot avert the punishment from yourselves, nor will you be helped. We will make the wrongdoers taste a great punishment.' All the messengers We sent before you also ate food and walked in the markets. O mankind! We will surely test you with one another. Your Lord is All-Seeing. Those who do not expect to meet Us say, 'Why have angels not been sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?' They have indeed grown arrogant and have gone far in their transgression. The day they see the angels, there will be no good news for the criminals. The angels will say, 'Good news is forbidden for you, forbidden!' We will take their deeds and turn them into dust. On that day, the abode of the righteous will be excellent, and their resting place will be beautiful. On that day, the heavens will be split open with clouds, and the angels will be sent down in ranks. On that day, true sovereignty belongs to the Most Merciful. It will be a difficult day for the disbelievers. On that day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands and say, 'Oh, I wish I had taken a path with the Messenger! Woe to me! I wish I had not taken so-and-so as a friend. Indeed, he led me away from the reminder after it had come to me. And Satan has always left man alone and helpless.' On that day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands and say, 'Oh, I wish I had taken a path with the Messenger! Woe to me! I wish I had not taken so-and-so as a friend. Indeed, he led me away from the reminder after it had come to me. And Satan has always left man alone and helpless.' On that day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands and say, 'Oh, I wish I had taken a path with the Messenger! Woe to me! I wish I had not taken so-and-so as a friend. Indeed, he led me away from the reminder after it had come to me. And Satan has always left man alone and helpless.' The Prophet will say, 'O my Lord! Indeed, my people have abandoned this Qur'an.' Thus, We have made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. And sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper. The disbelievers say, 'The Qur'an should have been sent down to him all at once.' But We have revealed it in stages to strengthen your heart, and We have made it easy to recite. They do not bring you an example but that We bring you the truth and the best explanation. Those who will be gathered on their faces to Hell are the worst in position and farthest astray from the way. We certainly gave Moses the Book and made his brother Aaron his assistant. 'Go to the people who have denied Our signs,' We said. Then We destroyed that people. We drowned the people of Noah when they denied their prophets and made them a lesson for mankind. We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment. We destroyed the people of 'Aad, Thamud, and the people of the well, and many generations between them. To each We gave examples, but they did not listen, so We destroyed them all. These polytheists had indeed passed by the town that was rained upon with a rain of evil. Did they not see it? No; they did not hope for resurrection. When they see you, they only mock you, saying, 'Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger? If it were not for our gods, he would have almost led us away from them.' When they see the punishment, they will know who is more astray in his path. Have you seen the one who takes his desire as his god? Will you be a guardian over him? Or do you think that most of them listen or understand? They are nothing but like cattle, rather they are more astray. Do you not see how your Lord extends the shadow? If He willed, He could have made it stationary. Then We made the sun a proof for it. Do you not see how your Lord extends the shadow? If He willed, He could have made it stationary. Then We made the sun a proof for it. It is Allah who made the night a covering for you, and sleep a rest, and made the day a time for working. He sends the winds as heralds of His mercy. We have sent down pure water from the sky to revive a dead land and to give drink to many of the animals and humans We have created. He sends the winds as heralds of His mercy. We have sent down pure water from the sky to revive a dead land and to give drink to many of the animals and humans We have created. We have indeed sent down various types of rain between the countries as a lesson. Yet most of the people have persisted in their ingratitude. If We had willed, We would have sent a warner to every city. Do not obey the disbelievers, but strive against them with all your might. It is Allah who releases two seas, one sweet and palatable, and the other salty and bitter, and He has placed between them a barrier and a prohibiting partition. He created man from water and made him a lineage and a tribe. Your Lord is capable of all things. They worship besides Allah what cannot benefit them nor harm them. The disbeliever is an ally of the one who disobeys his Lord (the devil). We have only sent you as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. Say, 'I do not ask you for it any reward, but rather I wish that you become a people who are rightly guided to your Lord.' Trust in Allah, the Ever-Living, and glorify Him in praise. He is sufficient to be aware of the sins of His servants. He is the Most Merciful, who created the heavens, the earth, and all that is between them in six days, then established Himself above the Throne. Ask one who knows. When it is said to them, 'Prostrate to the Most Merciful,' they say, 'And what is the Most Merciful? Shall we prostrate to what you command us?' And it increases their aversion. It is Allah who has made the constellations in the sky and created the sun that gives light and the moon that illuminates. He brings night and day in succession for those who wish to take heed or be grateful. The servants of the Most Merciful walk upon the earth humbly, and when the ignorant address them, they respond with gentle words. They spend their nights in worship of their Lord, prostrating and standing. They say, 'Our Lord! Avert from us the punishment of Hell; indeed, its punishment is ever adhering and bitter. Indeed, it is an evil place and an evil resting place.' They say, 'Our Lord! Avert from us the punishment of Hell; indeed, its punishment is ever adhering and bitter. Indeed, it is an evil place and an evil resting place.' They are neither extravagant nor stingy when they spend, but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate. They do not invoke with Allah another deity, nor do they kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right, nor do they commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. The punishment will be multiplied for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated. Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work; for them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. And whoever repents and does righteous work has certainly turned to Allah with [accepted] repentance. They do not bear false witness, and when they pass by ill speech, they pass by with dignity. And when they are reminded of the verses of their Lord, they do not fall upon them deaf and blind. They say, 'Our Lord! Grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.' It is they who will be awarded the highest place in Paradise for their patience, and therein they will be greeted with greetings and peace. They will abide therein. What an excellent place and what an excellent resting place! Say, 'What if your supplication (dua) is not for worship, what value would your Lord give you?' O disbelievers! Because you have denied, the punishment will not depart from you.
