Tawakkul

Tawakkul is defined as having absolute trust in Allah, relying on Him, and believing that everything is subject to His decree. In Islam, tawakkul is regarded not merely as a passive waiting but as a surrender combined with active faith and effort. From a Sufi perspective, tawakkul requires accepting situations beyond one's will with patience and trust under the guidance of a mentor. The understanding of tawakkul encourages individuals to exert their efforts while leaving the results to Allah. Therefore, in Islam, tawakkul is a virtue that reflects the highest level of faith and surrender. The Quran states, 'And whoever puts their trust in Allah, He is sufficient for them.' This reinforces the importance of tawakkul and the reliability of Allah's assistance.
