Shukr

"Shukr is the gratitude felt towards the blessings granted by Allah."

Spiritual & Deep Meaning

Shukr, as a form of worship in Islam, is the understanding of gratitude and thankfulness felt in response to the blessings that Allah has provided to humanity. The servant must appreciate every blessing bestowed upon them and should never forget it. Shukr is also significant as a factor that strengthens social relationships; by showing gratitude to others, a spiritual bond is established. Furthermore, being grateful ensures the individual's spiritual peace. In Sufism, a continuous understanding of Shukr strengthens the person's connection with Allah and purifies their soul. It is expected that Shukr is expressed not only through the tongue but also through the heart and actions; in this context, one should thank Allah with good deeds and avoid sins.

Example / Wisdom Quote

"The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of Shukr by saying, "Be grateful so that you may be granted more gratitude.""
