Envy
"Envy is the desire for the destruction of another's blessing and the feeling of jealousy associated with it."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Envy is a negative feeling that a person experiences towards the successes and blessings of others. Islam defines the feeling of envy as a dangerous moral disease; because envy is considered a feeling that disrupts human relationships and threatens social peace. Muslims should avoid such negative feelings by trusting in Allah's justice and decree. Envy undermines a person's spiritual well-being and harms oneself. The envy that darkens a person's spiritual world is regarded as a kind of heart disease and obstructs one's spiritual development. Therefore, it is important to prioritize feelings of brotherhood and cooperation instead of envy.
