Poverty

In Sufism, poverty is not merely an economic condition but also an expression of spiritual depth. In Sufism, poverty signifies the rejection of excessive attachment to worldly possessions and the strengthening of trust in Allah. A true poor person is not only distant from material wealth but is also spiritually directed towards Allah. According to Sufi understanding, wealth is not only related to worldly possessions but also to a person's spiritual state. Poverty serves as a means for a person to discipline their ego and free themselves from all forms of attachment. In religious teachings, embracing poverty helps one understand that true wealth lies in closeness to Allah.
