Araf
"Araf is a place located between heaven and hell, serving as a transition area for both groups."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Araf is an area located between heaven and hell after the Day of Judgment. Here, people pause between the righteous and the wicked, and everyone is evaluated according to their deeds. In the Quran, Araf is defined as a part of the justice mechanism in the afterlife. From a Sufi perspective, Araf represents a period of spiritual inquiry and maturation. The individual reflects on their past mistakes during this stage and strives for correction, leading to a new formation. Araf also prepares the ground for a person's inner reckoning.
