Islamic Parables - Generosity, Charity and the Repulsion of Calamities

A Tale Advising Those Struggling with Impatience

"Impatience is an emotion that often leads people to error. Expecting quick results can often prevent us from taking the right steps. This tale illustrates the importance of waiting patiently and how a small act of generosity can initiate great transformations in the heart. This story, which serves as an inspiration for those wishing to cope with impatience, emphasizes that even small things in life can open the door to great happiness."

In a village, an elderly man who was a pilgrim would help the poor in the village every year after performing his pilgrimage. Upon returning from Hajj, he would distribute the food and items he brought back to the villagers. One year, upon his return, a young woman knocked on his door. This woman, who had nothing materially, wished to give him the recipe for her delicious dishes. Although it could not be repaid, the elderly man noticed her beautiful intention and sent her a few meals in a package. He read wonderful love, gratitude, and happiness in her eyes. The woman was filled with joy thanks to this small gift. The elderly man remembered her every day and included her in his prayers. Over time, the woman began to do good deeds towards the people around her with this loving heart. Now, every evening, she would go door to door, collecting food scraps and distributing them to the sick and poor. In a short time, peace and tranquility prevailed in the village; everyone began to help one another. Yet, the foundation of this was a small act of generosity coming together with a small gift.
