Zuhd
"Zuhd is defined as renunciation of worldly pleasures and spiritual purification."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Zuhd is expressed as the individual's distancing from the temporary pleasures of worldly life and turning towards spiritual values. In Sufism, Zuhd is considered a form of spiritual purification, during which the individual can elevate spiritually by reducing their attachment to worldly possessions. Zuhd aims not only to detach from the world but also to purify the heart and intention of the individual. Although mentioned in the Quran, it emphasizes that rather than merely avoiding the pleasures of the self, one should find their true purpose in this world. Zuhd is a moral and spiritual attitude, and in this respect, it holds a significant place in Islam.
