Seyr-i Süluk

Seyr-i Süluk is one of the most important concepts in Sufism. This term is formed by the combination of the words 'seyr', meaning 'journey', and 'süluk', meaning 'progression'. In Sufism, the individual goes through various stages by disciplining their self, aiming to reach the closest rank to Allah at the end of this journey. Seyr-i Süluk typically occurs under the guidance of a murshid and consists of various stages. Among these stages are states such as 'marifah', 'vukuf', and 'fuad'. Each stage supports the individual's spiritual development and leads to a deepening thirst for knowledge. Many scholars in the history of Sufism have emphasized the positive effects of this process on mental and spiritual health. Seyr-i Süluk is not only an individual journey but also a process of social transformation, as the individual develops, the society also benefits from this development.
