Seyr-i Süluk
"Seyr-i Süluk is the spiritual journey of the Sufi seeker towards reaching Allah."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Seyr-i Süluk is one of the most important terms in Sufism. It expresses the effort of the Sufi traveler (salik) to draw closer to Allah through a process of spiritual education. This process begins under the guidance of a murshid and consists of various stages. Each stage is significant for the individual in terms of disciplining the self (nafs) and achieving spiritual maturity. Seyr-i Süluk is a journey supported by ascetic practices (riyazat), remembrance (zikr), and other forms of worship. Its aim is to purify the human soul and lead it to a divine understanding by establishing a balance between the heart and the mind. At the end of this training, the salik aims to reach a state of reunion and unity with Allah.
