Rida

Rida is an important part of Sufi attire and is a covering used by dervishes. Sufis wear rida to symbolize their humble lifestyle and their desire to turn towards the Hereafter, even though the world is temporary. It is generally made from simple and natural materials, exhibiting a form that is free from ostentation. Rida helps dervishes present themselves in a humble manner to others. It also contributes to spiritual purification during their spiritual journey and aids the individual in returning to themselves. Rida can be made from animal skin that should be condemned or from natural fibers.
