Ikhlas
"Ikhlas is the act of doing something solely for the pleasure of Allah; it reflects sincere intention."
Spiritual & Deep Meaning
Ikhlas, particularly in Islamic literature, refers to performing an action solely for the pleasure of Allah. In Sufism, ikhlas means that a person acts with a completely pure intention in their heart, without any ulterior motives or ostentation. Ikhlas holds critical importance in terms of the value of deeds because the purity of intention is a determining factor in whether an action is accepted or not. A person who possesses ikhlas lives without being swayed by worldly benefits, solely seeking the pleasure of Allah. This is part of the process of spiritual purification and maturation. In the Sufi journey, attaining the rank of ikhlas holds a place above many other spiritual degrees.
