Dergah

A dergah is a place in Sufism where spiritual guides (murshids) are located and where disciples (murids) receive spiritual education. It is generally known as a place where dhikr (remembrance), prayer, and various acts of worship are performed. Dergahs are also spaces where communities come together to share their religious and spiritual knowledge. These places often host social assistance and solidarity activities as well. For seekers (saliks), a dergah is not only a place of education but also an environment where spiritual friendships are established and sharing occurs. Therefore, the life of a dergah significantly reflects the social aspect of the Sufi community.
