Ha, Meem. The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty and Wise. In the heavens and the earth, there are indeed signs for the believers. O mankind! In your creation and the spreading of living beings on the earth, there are certainly lessons for those who have faith. In the alternation of night and day, in Allah sending down rain from the heavens to provide sustenance and reviving the earth after its death, and in His controlling of the winds, there are lessons for those who reflect. These are the signs we have truly conveyed to you; they are proofs of Allah’s existence. So, after Allah and His signs, what word will they believe in? Woe to the one who arrogantly turns away while the verses of Allah are recited to him, as if he has not heard them! Give him the tidings of a painful punishment. Woe to the one who arrogantly turns away while the verses of Allah are recited to him, as if he has not heard them! Give him the tidings of a painful punishment. When he learns something from Our verses, he mocks it. For such there is a humiliating punishment and thereafter, Hell. Their gains and the allies they have taken besides Allah will not benefit them. A great punishment is for them. When he learns something from Our verses, he mocks it. For such there is a humiliating punishment and thereafter, Hell. Their gains and the allies they have taken besides Allah will not benefit them. A great punishment is for them. Indeed, this Qur'an is a guide to the truth. For those who deny the signs of their Lord, there is a repulsive and painful punishment. It is Allah who has subjected the sea for you to sail in it by His command and to seek His provision, perhaps you will be grateful. He has subjected all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth to you. Indeed, in this, there are signs for those who reflect. Say to the believers: Let them forgive those who do not hope for the days of Allah's reckoning. Whoever does a good deed, it is for himself; and whoever does evil, it is against himself. Then you will be returned to your Lord. And We certainly gave the Children of Israel the Book, judgment, and prophethood; We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds. In matters of religion, We gave them clear proofs; but they did not differ until knowledge came to them, out of mutual jealousy. Your Lord will surely judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that in which they used to differ. Then We made you a law for the religion; so follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who do not know. Indeed, they will not avail you against Allah at all. Indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another, but the righteous are allies of Allah. This Qur'an is clear proofs for mankind; it is a guide and mercy for those who have firm faith. Do those who commit evil deeds think that We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in their life and in their death? What a terrible judgment they make! Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth; and every soul will be compensated for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged. Have you seen the one who has taken his desire as his god, and whom Allah has led astray despite his knowledge, and whose hearing, heart, and sight Allah has sealed? Who can guide him after Allah? Do you not reflect, O mankind? They say, "Life is only this worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." They have no knowledge of this; they only conjecture. When Our verses are recited to them clearly, they only respond with: "If you are truthful..." "Bring forth your forefathers," they say. Say: "Allah revives you, then He causes you to die, and then He will gather you on the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. But most people do not know." To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. On the Day the Hour will be established, you will see those who followed falsehood in regret. You will see every nation on its knees. Every nation will be called to its book. It will be said to them: "Today, you will be recompensed for what you used to do." "Indeed, this book speaks against you with truth. We had been recording what you used to do." As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is the evident success. But it will be said to the disbelievers: "My verses were recited to you, but you were arrogant and were a criminal people, were you not?" "Indeed, the promise of Allah is true, and the Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it," you used to say. "We do not know what the Hour is; we only think it is a conjecture, and we have no certainty about it." Their evil deeds became apparent to them, and what they used to mock enveloped them. It will be said: "As you forgot the meeting of this Day, We have forgotten you; and your refuge is the Fire, and you have no helpers." "This is for having taken the verses of Allah in mockery and for the worldly life having deceived you." On that Day, they will not be brought out from it, nor will they be allowed to make excuses. Praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth and the Lord of the worlds. To Him belongs the greatness in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
