"Loneliness is a condition that harms a person's mental state. Each of us may feel lonely during certain periods of life. The story of Ebu Zer helps us understand the feeling of loneliness behind friendships destroyed by arrogance. This tale offers lessons that provide hope to those who feel lost in loneliness. It shows that when we shed arrogance, we will regain friendships, which are the most valuable possessions in life. Ebu Zer’s transformation highlights how we can find healing during these difficult times."
Ebu Zer was a companion belonging to a wealthy family during the early days of Islam. One day, Gabriel explained to him how wealth changes a person and how arrogance and pride weaken human relationships. Ebu Zer exhibited a proud attitude by saying to one Muslim, 'you are a slave, I am free.' Following this incident, Allah gave him a lesson. Ebu Zer suddenly found himself beside a poor man made of clay. Subsequently, he felt deep remorse upon realizing his former arrogant behavior towards this person and vowed never to be arrogant again.
