Gratitude and Contentment
The religion of Islam emphasizes the important role of gratitude and contentment in the lives of believers. Gratitude expresses our thankfulness to Allah, while contentment teaches us to be satisfied with what we have and to find happiness in it. These two values help Muslims lead a peaceful and balanced life in this world. Gratitude and contentment satisfy the heart and lead one to greater blessings. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) has given many recommendations to his community on these matters and has explained the importance of these values through Hadiths.
"He who does not thank people does not thank Allah."
Thanking people is a reflection of our gratitude to Allah.
"Allah loves when a believer is blessed with goodness to praise Him and give thanks."
Thanking Allah when we receive goodness leads us to gain His pleasure.
"Whoever among you wakes up secure in his home, healthy in his body, and has his daily sustenance, it is as if the whole world has been gathered for him."
Security, health, and sustenance are among the most valuable blessings of the world.
"Wealth is not in the abundance of possessions; rather, true wealth is the richness of the soul."
True wealth is inner peace and the richness of the heart.
"Look at those who are below you and do not look at those who are above you."
Contentment teaches us to be happy with what we have and not to envy what others possess.
