Charity and Solidarity
Charity and solidarity are fundamental cornerstones of the principles of social justice and community solidarity in Islam. These values, which strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among Muslims and ensure social peace, are frequently emphasized in the Qur'an and the hadiths of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Giving charity is not only about providing material assistance but also serves as a means of spiritual purification and drawing closer to Allah. Islam aims to enhance the welfare of individuals and communities by promoting charity and solidarity. In this context, this selection compiled from the authentic hadiths of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the importance of charity and solidarity serves as a guiding reference for Muslims.
"Actions are judged by intentions. Each person will have only what they intended."
The importance of intention while giving charity is great. Allah evaluates us according to our intentions.
"Whoever gives in charity even the equivalent of a date from lawful earnings, Allah accepts it with His right hand."
Charity given from lawful earnings holds great value in the sight of Allah.
"The one who strives for the needs of the widow and the poor is like the one who strives in the way of Allah."
Supporting those in need is as valuable as striving in the way of Allah.
"Charity does not decrease wealth."
Charity does not diminish wealth; rather, it increases its blessings.
"Every day the sun rises, a charity is due on every joint of a person."
Every day, one should give charity to express gratitude for the blessings Allah has provided.
