The Virtue of Seeking Knowledge
Islam places great importance on seeking knowledge. Knowledge liberates a person from ignorance and shows them the right path. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) stated that seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim man and woman. Knowledge benefits a person not only in this worldly life but also in the Hereafter. Islamic scholars have expressed that knowledge brings a person closer to Allah and strengthens one's faith. Seeking knowledge enables a person to benefit both themselves and society. Therefore, seeking knowledge in Islam is considered one of the most virtuous acts of worship.
"Seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim man and woman."
Seeking knowledge is the responsibility of every Muslim, and it enlightens their religious and worldly life.
"Whoever embarks on a path to seek knowledge, Allah will make the path to Paradise easy for them."
Striving on the path of knowledge leads a person to attain happiness in the Hereafter.
"Scholars are the inheritors of the prophets."
Scholars carry the intellectual legacy left by the prophets and enlighten societies.
"The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it."
Knowledge of the Quran is the highest form of knowledge, and learning and teaching it is a great virtue.
"Allah does not take knowledge away from the hearts of people by snatching it; rather, He takes knowledge by the death of scholars."
The value of scholars is immense in terms of the continuity of knowledge; their loss leads to a decrease in knowledge.
