Marriage and Family Peace
Marriage holds great significance in the Islamic faith, and the family is considered the fundamental building block of society. Islam promotes a relationship based on love, respect, and compassion between spouses. Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has provided many recommendations to his community regarding marriage and family life, and his guidance has helped Muslims maintain a peaceful family life. Family peace is a condition that must be established not only between spouses but also among children and extended family members. Islam contributes to the formation of a peaceful family structure by defining the responsibilities and rights of family members towards one another.
"The most complete of the believers in faith is the one who has the best character and is the most kind to his family."
Good morals and kind behavior within the family contribute to the perfection of our faith.
"The best of you is the one who is best to his family. I am the best of you to my family."
Being good to the family is a sign that a person is a righteous Muslim.
"When a man spends on his family with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure, that spending is considered charity for him."
Expenses made for the family, when done for the sake of Allah, earn the reward of charity.
"No one has ever eaten a better food than that which is earned by his own hand. The Prophet of Allah, David (peace be upon him), also ate from the work of his own hands."
Earning our sustenance through our own efforts is the best way to provide halal food for our family.
"A man earns reward even when he gives his wife a drink of water."
Even small acts of kindness between spouses can lead to great rewards in the sight of Allah.
