Imam Ash'ari

Imam Ash'ari is the founder of the Ash'ari school and one of the prominent figures in Islamic theology. While belonging to the Mu'tazila school at a young age, he later established the Ash'ariyya, developing a new line by combining rational reasoning with traditional knowledge. His works systematically address theological issues and serve as a defense against Mu'tazila and other philosophical movements. His thoughts have left a profound impact on many jurisprudential schools, particularly the Hanafi and Shafi'i schools. By examining topics such as human will, destiny, and the attributes of Allah in his works, he has shaped the ideas of various sects, especially Sunni Islam.
