Ali Kuşçu

Ali Kuşçu is recorded in history as a prominent scholar of astronomy and mathematics in the Ottoman Empire. Known for his works that broke tradition and promoted scientific thought, Ali Kuşçu received education in important centers of knowledge of his time and interacted with Western scientists. In Istanbul, he opened new doors in the Ottoman understanding of science and produced significant works in the fields of calendar and astronomy. He also contributed to the field of jurisprudence with his work Fîzîk. Ali Kuşçu was not only a scientist but also an active educator. Through the methodology he developed, he secured an important place for himself in the transmission of knowledge and in training students.
